Dust Adventures Roleplay Review

The year is 1945 and in our timeline the Second World War is coming to an end, but this isn't our timeline it's Dust. For the citizens living in the world of Dust they face a very grim future. Alien technology has boosted the war effort turning it all into a war of attrition..well it did until the dead started being drafted.

Dust Adventures takes place in the world of Paolo Parente’s DUST Universe and will be familiar to anyone who has played DUST Tactics.
As Modiphius explain
'The Second World War has raged for nearly a decade and its grip has spread to every continent on the planet. War has advanced swiftly and strangely in the Dust universe through the application of Alien VK technology — a limitless source of energy in its simplest form, and an unthinkable weapon in the wrong hands. '
How to play:
Dust is a very easy system to pick up and uses six sided dice to form dice pools. In our bundle we have some of the dice that have been purposely made for the game, however you can use D6's on their own.
Character creation is based on a points buying system where you start with a number of points and spread it out across various attributes. This means that you can't be great at everything so spend your points wisely!
After they are done you can pick paths. These are designed to represent the different routes your character too to get to the start of the game. The bank of paths, skills and other choices allow players to build some unique characters just makes sure you don't got too wild!
The Game
Some knowledge of the Second World War or Dust Tactics would be helpful but the timelines and the story along the sidebars are highly detailed and very helpful. Don't think this game has to be all about fighting, with new alien technology and fuel the game can easily be all about treasure hunting.
The scope that you can use and the places you can take the players is endless. Think Raiders of the Lost Ark mixed with Hellboy mixed with Kelly's Heroes and much more!
In the back of the book there is a short adventure to get everyone used to the game as well as a few characters that can be used. So if you don't want to make some characters don't worry you can just dive straight in!
